Bea & Nimrod
When my dear 25-year-old equine friend Nimrod and I got in touch with Greenvalley via via, we had already been through a period of misery. He is terrorized by anything that flies from the warmer spring to late fall, but this year was very extreme. I tried different fly blankets and eczema blankets, but nothing helped.
Nimrod lives on
On August 8, Nimrod and I met Rita Sophie of Greenvalley and she was shocked by what she saw. The bumps, the spots ... it was questionable whether the treatment would work. The same day I treated Nimrod completely with the spray and rubbed all the spots. I did this every day for the first week. It was very special to see so much result after only a few days! And even nicer: Nimrod became happier. I still kept his fly rug on, because I didn't quite trust it myself. In hindsight, it could have come off much sooner.
The second week I still rubbed the spots every day, but on Rita Sophie's advice I started trying to spray Nimrod once every three days. After a while I adjusted this to once every two days, because on the third day he still got bitten a lot. But what a difference after two weeks of treatment! All wounds had healed and in some places his hair even started to come back.
Still only spray occasionally
From the third week, I no longer rubbed the spots separately, but continued to spray completely every two days. I slowly built this up. First to once every three days, and from about mid-September, when the weather changed a bit, to once a week. This also depended a bit on how strong the sun was going to shine one day. With a few warmer days in a row I sprayed an extra time. We kept this up until he got his blanket against the cold back on. Even when he had his rain blanket back on and had a wound once, I treated it with the spray and it healed fantastically fast. You understand that I am a fan and my sarcasm has completely disappeared. It is so nice to see your 25-year-old friend running free as a bird in the pasture again, without having to run away from those nasty mosquitoes all day. That makes every horse lover happy... I think 🙂 .
