About us

Greenvalley Health Products' mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of horses and other companion animals. We do this by developing innovative products with a strong scientific foundation. Our six-member team consists of: Henk (veterinarian), Rosie (R&D assistant), Ingrid (animal physiologist, nutrition), Monique (office manager), Sara (marketing and communications) and Rita Sophie (founder, advisor).

A dream come true

Rita Sophie owns an Icelandic horse herself and has enjoyed working on her own business in the animal feed industry for 25 years. She is engaged daily in developing products that improve the health and well-being of farm animals. When stablemate Josien told her that Spölur was suffering greatly from summer eczema, Rita Sophie immediately went to work. Because: how is it possible that there is not yet a good treatment for summer eczema in horses!

Rita Sophie and her team got to work. With their prior knowledge and experience, moving into equine health products was a dream come true. Together, they founded "Greenvalley Health Products. In March 2020, they developed a prototype product, based on literature and laboratory research. This product was immediately tested on Spölur. The treatment worked as expected: the itching disappeared and small wounds recovered within 8 hours. After many successful tests in the following months, the team decides to launch the product on the market in 2021. Meanwhile, our Happy Skin products have become indispensable for many horse owners.

Based on science

Greenvalley Health Products finds it important that the products we develop really work. We start with the questions and problems we encounter in practice and do thorough literature and laboratory research into the operation and correct composition of the product. The product is then tested under careful supervision. If that is successful, we move on to larger-scale research in practice. When testing products, we involve our intended customers, because they are best placed to judge whether a product meets their expectations.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a top priority at Greenvalley Health Products. Therefore, our products contain as many natural ingredients as possible, whereby we pay attention to sustainable production. Our vials are recyclable and the filling material in our packaging is biodegradable.
